Working on Weekends
I haven’t switched off my laptop since Monday.  I was planning to keep ‘weekends just for family’ as my 2012 resolution, but the way work is coming my way, it would be impossible to do so.. I must not fail at time management.

Rape: Fallacies of the four witness requirement →
Very informative. “As for rape, most Islamic scholars in this country have made it a subcategory of zina (adultery) and have finished the distinction between adultery and rape, forgetting that rape is a hate crime – a form of severe torture/fitnah – not just a sex crime as most of us do believe or are made to believe.” Beautifully explained. Even in Zina category; “Rape is Zina bil Jabbar,”...

Stillness, then silence, then random speech, Then knowledge, intoxication, annihilation; Earth, then fire, then light. Coldness, then shade, then sunlight. Thorny road, then a path, then the wilderness. River, then ocean, then the shore; Contentment, desire, then Love. Closeness, union, intimacy; Closing, then opening, then obliteration, Separation, togetherness, then longing; Signs for those of...

Muslim women should NOT work?!
its not as simple as that. Lets reflect … . a few hundred years back……the Prophet Muhammad sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam appointed Shifa bint ‘Abdullah ibn Shams as the administrator and accountant of the Market of Madinah. Imagine, a professional Muslimah being appointed by the Prophet himself! Sayyida Zaidi  http://www.promuslimah.com/

Ungrateful
It breaks my heart when I hear married women—especially the ones above 50 years of age who live in beautifully decorated homes and with children who are well established abroad etc—complain about their husbands and their life in general after more than 25 years of marriage.

Islamic Republic of Pakistan
Him: It should’nt really bother people if the word ‘islamic’ appears in Pakistan’s name. The fact that Pakistan is officially ‘The Islamic Republic of Pakistan’ does not actually make it ‘islamic’ in reality. Recently no other muslim country has done as much harm to Islam than Pakistan itself.  Me: Hmmmm…ouch.

Today
I met Mohsin Hamid’s (the author of The Reluctant Fundamentalist) father, Navid Hamid ( who himself is a renowned Pakistani economist at the Lahore School of Economics) today…such a humble person. Also got an offer to deliver a talk in Lahore… spoke in front of an audience of 300 people… massive networking dose for today.. so tired.
